Companies are paying the price for the Central Bank's key rate hike

Forbes has published a ranking of Russian companies with the largest debts. According to the publication, all members of the top 10 felt the consequences of the high key rate of the Central Bank - for a number of companies, interest expenses on loans in 2024 more than doubled.

In fourth place was Atomenergoprom, which manages nuclear engineering enterprises. The debts of Rosatom's subholding increased to 2.46 trillion rubles, and interest payments increased from 112.9 billion to 232.5 billion rubles.

The State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) took sixth place - its net financial debt at the end of 2024 exceeded 1 trillion rubles, and the debt-to-revenue ratio reached 8.6x. At the same time, analysts note that GTLK remains a key tool for implementing state programs and national projects, therefore, the risks on its obligations are compensated by state support.
