A detachment of Pacific Fleet ships, consisting of the frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov", the corvette "Gremyashchiy" and the large sea tanker "Boris Butoma", has completed the program of staying in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.
For five days, Captain First Rank Alexei Ulyanenko, who heads the voyage, and the commanders of the ships met with the leadership of the Vietnamese Navy. In addition, excursions to the frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" were organized for employees of the Russian Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese Navy.
Russian sailors visited historical and memorial sites, as well as museums. In addition, they took part in friendly sports competitions with Vietnamese servicemen.
The Pacific Fleet squadron, which set course for a long voyage on October 1 from the port of Vladivostok. As part of the mission, the ships perform tasks in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as in strategically important areas of the World Ocean.
Large anti-submarine ships of Project 1155 were developed by the Northern Design Bureau of the USC. The frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" was built at the USC Yantar plant in Kaliningrad.
The corvette "Gremyashchiy" was built by shipbuilders of the Northern Shipyard USC according to project 20385 of the USC "Almaz" design bureau.
