Russian automobile plant AvtoVAZ has officially registered the Lada Salut trademark. The data appeared in the "Federal Institute of Industrial Property" (FIPS).
The appearance of the Lada Salut trademark may be the first step towards developing a new model or a special series of cars. However, there have been no official statements from AvtoVAZ about plans to use this name yet. Trademark registration provides the company with legal protection and allows it to use the name for commercial purposes.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ registered eight new potential names, including the trademarks Retiva, Merida, Tarusa, Altra, Azimut, XTour, Gravis and Astera. As a result, Azimut became the company's first crossover, confirming the trend towards development and updating of the model range.
