The head of the Federal Customs Service, Valery Pikalev, spoke in the Federation Council about an effective tool from the field of information technology to combat corruption. According to him, digitalization and automation of all customs processes will help to combat it.
We are now very actively engaged in digitalization and automation of all customs processes. And it seems to me that this is the most effective mechanism in the fight against corruption
According to him, a special department has been created in the agency to combat corruption, which operates in all territorial customs departments and electronic declaration centers. The main task of the specialists was not only to identify violations, but also to apply a systematic approach in difficult situations.
Pikalev stressed that reducing the participation of officials in making key decisions will help reduce the number of corruption crimes.
