A prototype of a new light interceptor drone, developed by a startup whose name is not disclosed, is being tested in Russia.
The drone has a four-engine high-current electric propulsion system of the pushing type, which is classic for modern interceptor copters. Its layout includes a cruciform arrangement of bearing surfaces (wings) and a bearing body.
It is assumed that the cruising speed of the aircraft will be about 250 km/h, and the maximum can reach 290-310 km/h. Most likely, this will be a kinetic interceptor drone without a warhead (WH), similar to "Yolka", or with a light fragmentation warhead weighing up to 500 g.
The drone's guidance system includes a rotating head with a thermal imager, which can operate in two modes: either with automatic guidance based on AI, or with video signal transmission to the operator on the PBU. The range of target detection and engagement is usually within 3-7 kilometers.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Geran-2 drones began to be equipped with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, which carries out detonation in the air.
