The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) has developed a new industrial engine NK-36ST-32. The unit is designed for transporting gas through main pipelines.
Executive Director of the State Corporation, Oleg Evtushenko, noted that there had been no domestic developments in this class before.
The creation of a new engine will solve the issue of import substitution, which opens up new opportunities for the development of the Russian gas industry.
NK-36ST-32 was developed on the basis of the serial engine NK-36ST-25 with a capacity of 25 MW using modern technologies and solutions. Constructive continuity with the base engine will minimize the costs of modernizing the existing infrastructure.
In terms of overall characteristics – power, efficiency, fuel consumption, service life and environmental friendliness – the NK-36ST-32 surpasses all Russian engines for gas transportation.
