The International Forum of Digital Technologies in Transport and Logistics "Digital Transportation 2025" was held in Moscow the day before, where new trends, current problems and the foreseeable future of the transport industry were considered through the prism of global digitalization of processes.
One of the speakers at the session "Smart City in Motion: Digital infrastructure as a new reality" was Pavel Krupinov, Head of Government Relations at Yandex Go sharing services. Pavel clarified the current situation with scooters and shared plans for 2026.
We have developed a set of rules for kicksharing services, which we will send to market participants and regional authorities.
The company sees the problem in the congestion of streets with an excessive number of scooters, which not only interferes with the movement of pedestrians, but also contributes to increased accidents.
In view of the development of the transport infrastructure of individual mobility devices and the increasing number of scooters in cities, this may create a load on the roads, as well as increase accidents.
To address these challenges, Yandex plans to limit the number of its personal mobility devices in Russian cities, and the company is also working on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation.
The pilot project to introduce the linking of scooter rental accounts to Mos ID, as the speaker noted, was recognized as successful, and Yandex plans to introduce individual linking to accounts in "Gosuslugi" throughout Russia, which will become one of the elements of transport digitalization and the development of "smart cities" infrastructure.
The initiative will also allow the introduction of verification systems and age verification of drivers in order to prevent children and adolescents using other people's accounts in kicksharing from driving.
