The development of DNA sequencing technologies (decoding the genetic code of the body) will help increase human life expectancy to 150 years. This was announced at the educational marathon "Knowledge. First" by biologist, winner of the "Knowledge. Lecturer" competition, Sergei Podkovalnikov.
If we use DNA sequencing technologies, we get an individual genetic profile of a person. So we know what risk areas we have, and we pay attention to them. What diseases are possible for us. This, accordingly, increases life expectancy.
According to the biologist, personalization of the decoding of the genetic code of the body will begin to be actively used in the coming years. "Another question is that it will be expensive. But again, in 13 years, the super-elite DNA decoding technology has fallen in price from 3 billion dollars to 500 dollars. Therefore, over time, perhaps, the decoding of the genetic code of the body will also fall in price", Podkovalnikov added.
DNA sequencing is the process of determining the exact sequence of nucleotides (adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine) in a DNA molecule. This method allows you to decipher the genetic code of the body, identify genetic mutations.
