Serial production of the new generation AL-51F1 engine (or "Product 30") for the Su-57 fighter will soon be launched in Russia, according to military expert Dmitry Kornev.
With it, the aircraft will be able to fully meet all the requirements for fifth-generation fighters.
AL-51F1 is a second-stage engine. Serial Su-57s will receive the power plant, which will significantly improve their characteristics, including power, fuel efficiency, and stealth.
The engine will increase thrust compared to the previous AL-41F1, which will allow the Su-57 to develop supersonic speed without afterburner. The introduction of a new nozzle will reduce the radar signature of the aircraft.
Aerodynamic lift and stability at supersonic speeds are increased thanks to the flat fuselage, updated airframe, and weapons bays.
