The experienced wide-body long-range airliner Il-96-400, with tail number 96115, arrived in Syktyvkar on September 12 for testing, according to the "KomiAvia" public page.
The aircraft was tested directly in the sky above the city. Due to its size, the Il-96-400 did not land at the airport and conducted a test program over the surrounding settlements.
The Il-96-400 is the newest Russian airliner, which received a new livery in the corporate style of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec).
In March 2023, the aircraft was registered under the number and equipped with modern Russian electronic equipment, including a new avionics suite.
The Il-96-400M is a wide-body long-range aircraft designed for international transportation, and its testing continues at various sites in the country.
