The neural network used to be able to explain math and physics problems on the Yandex search page, but now it is ready to support users in learning Russian and English, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science.
The company noted that in addition to adding new subjects, Yandex has also improved the quality of responses by 30% compared to the previous version of the model. The neural network can explain the solutions to school problems step by step directly in "Search", even if the corresponding information is not available on the Internet. For example, teachers, schoolchildren and their parents can ask Alice to write a simple computer science program, analyze past tense grammar, or explain a genetics problem.
In addition, Alice in "Search" helps to prepare for writing essays in Russian language and literature. The neural network offers advice on the structure of the work and methods for formulating an opinion about a work or event. Graduating students can use Alice to prepare for the final essay, receiving recommendations on how to draw up a text plan and choose works as arguments.
Yandex trained the neural network on the basis of thousands of examples of exercise analysis, created in collaboration with mathematicians, editors and school teachers. Users can also rate Alice's explanations with "likes" and "dislikes", as well as leave comments.
