Servicemen of the Airborne Forces (VDV) of Russia, during joint strategic exercises with the Armed Forces of Belarus "Zapad-2025," have begun loading military equipment and cargo onto military transport aviation (VTA) aircraft. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicles and cargo on parachutes will be loaded onto the Il-76MD. After the flight, the Russian soldiers will have to land in the rear of a mock enemy.
In preparing the equipment for landing, parachute systems were installed, and the airborne infantry fighting vehicle itself was moored to the shock-absorbing system and loaded onto the aircraft.
The "Zapad-2025" exercises began on September 12 at training grounds in the Vitebsk, Minsk, and Grodno regions of Belarus. They involve about 13,000 military personnel. The maneuvers will last until September 16.
