Testing of the newest armored recovery vehicles BREM-80 has begun at the training grounds. The equipment, developed on the basis of the T-80 tank, is designed to replace obsolete models and provide effective support for tank units in the most difficult conditions.
Our BREM is based on two types of chassis: T-72/T-90 and T-80. At the same time, it was previously believed that the BREM based on the T-80 would not meet the requirements that are imposed on it. The tests showed that the T-80 machine works very efficiently and very well.
BREM-80 is designed to evacuate stuck and damaged equipment from the battlefield and repair it in the field. The machine is equipped with a winch, crane and bulldozer blade.
In February 2025, the Russian Ministry of Defense presented the modernized BREM-80. The refined vehicle received a solid protective side of the hull, similar to that used on T-80BVM tanks. In addition, the BREM is equipped with a lattice screen to protect against kamikaze drone attacks. Additional protection against drones is provided by an electronic warfare system. The machine is currently undergoing a series of tests.
