A machine gun anti-drone system, created by fighters of the 33rd separate brigade of operational assignment of the North-Western regional command of the Rosgvardia, was shown on the Web.
The complex is based on a paired installation of two large-caliber PKM machine guns mounted on a rotating base. This allows the operator to quickly and accurately aim the weapon at the target, tracking the movement of the drone in real time.
The machine gun anti-drone system is designed to provide mobile protection of positions and units from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to the fighters of the 33rd brigade, the installation has been repeatedly successfully used to destroy enemy drones, including those carrying explosives.
The developers note that this installation is an example of the rapid adaptation of weapons to modern combat conditions. The simplicity of design and use, combined with high efficiency, makes it a valuable tool in the fight against unmanned aerial vehicles. The emergence of such anti-drone systems indicates the growing threat posed by UAVs and the need to develop effective countermeasures.
