The Yekaterinburg administration assured residents that glitches in the new three-section "Kastor" trams, which appeared on the routes on September 1, do not pose a danger and are a common occurrence for electric transport.
No serious malfunctions in the operation of the trams have been recorded. Like any equipment, the "Kastors" sometimes experience glitches that are characteristic of all types of electric transport. Specialists from "Gortrans" and the Ust-Katav Wagon-Building Plant (UKVZ) promptly resolve emerging issues and return the cars to the lines
From September 1 to 10, the new trams have already transported 29,000 passengers. Four trains run daily on the routes, with two cars regularly undergoing scheduled maintenance.
Seven new low-floor "Kastor" trams were presented in Yekaterinburg on September 4. Each car is designed for more than 150 passengers. The cabins are equipped with air conditioners, climate control, USB ports, and information displays, making trips more comfortable for citizens.
