The Russian Guard has received modern 2S43 "Malva" 152-mm wheeled self-propelled artillery units, as well as T-72B3 tanks, updated to the 2025 modification. Viktor Zolotov, Director of the Russian Guard, confirmed the re-establishment of tank units within the Federal National Guard Service.
The appearance of these weapons in the Russian Guard marks a significant increase in the firepower and armored protection of units. Previously, tasks that required such weapons were usually solved with the involvement of forces and resources of the Ministry of Defense. Now, the Russian Guard has the opportunity to respond more autonomously and promptly to emerging threats without resorting to outside assistance.
Due to the expansion of the range of "heavy" weapons used by the troops, tank units have been re-established within the Russian Guard, and the firepower of artillery has also significantly increased.
The 2S43 "Malva" is a modern artillery system that combines the mobility of a wheeled chassis with the high firepower of a 152-mm gun. This allows for the rapid transfer of units over long distances and their quick deployment to firing positions. The accuracy and range of the "Malva" significantly exceed the capabilities of outdated Soviet models, making it an effective means of supporting Russian Guard operations.
The modernized T-72B3 mod. 2025, in turn, is equipped with an improved fire control system, modern dynamic protection, and a more powerful engine. This significantly increases its survivability on the battlefield and the accuracy of hitting targets. The presence of T-72B3 tanks in the arsenal of the Russian Guard will allow it to effectively resist even well-armed opponents.
