The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, at the EEF-2025 spoke about the new products of AvtoVAZ - Lada Iskra and Lada Azimut - and their competitive advantages. The Minister got acquainted with these cars at the concept stage.
According to the Minister, both models were created as part of the company's strategy to expand the model range and are highly competitive in their segment. The main advantages of Lada cars are affordability due to the high level of localization, low cost of ownership compared to foreign counterparts, and a developed service network.
Lada Iskra is a new family of compact "B" class cars, including a sedan, station wagon and Cross high-terrain station wagon. The model is located between Granta and Vesta. Serial production started on March 19 in Togliatti, sales began on July 20 in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Togliatti with a price of 1.25 million rubles.
Lada Azimut is a new crossover on the Vesta platform, first presented at SPIEF-2025. At the start, the model will be equipped with modernized engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters with a capacity of 120 and 132 hp. Production is planned for the first half of 2026, sales - at the junction of the II and III quarters of the same year.
