«ERA-GLONASS» system for forced landing of drones tested in Sakhalin

The "red button" function allows you to stop the drone's flight and return it to the point of departure

A service for the forced termination of a drone's flight via the «ERA-GLONASS» system was tested in Sakhalin during the «Wings of Sakhalin» forum.

The company, together with the Far Eastern airline «Aurora BAS», tested the operation of the centralized command transmission mechanism. The «Brazhnik» unmanned vessel was used for the test. Control was carried out via the «Clean Sky» module via the communication channels of the «ERA-GLONASS» state system.

The service allows you to send a command to return the device to the point of departure and its safe landing. At this moment, the operator's console is blocked, and the drone completes the flight according to the built-in program.

Alexey Raikevich, General Director of JSC «GLONASS», noted that the development of the identification system is active, but the introduction of additional tools is required to open the sky for civil unmanned aviation. He noted the importance of the «red button» format, which makes it possible to instantly stop the flight if the drone is in a restricted area or if a security threat arises.

Dmitry Tretyakov, head of «Aurora BAS», said that the new technology will improve the safety of drone operation and simplify the integration of various types of aircraft into the common airspace.
