Even the most law-abiding citizens can fall into the trap of fraudsters or unknowingly arouse suspicion from the bank. To avoid unpleasant situations, it is worth following certain recommendations provided by the Bank of Russia.
Never make monetary transactions at the request of strangers. Do not independently return money that came to you allegedly by mistake. Contact your bank and ask them to make a reverse transfer using the sender's details. Do not give your bank card or access to your online bank to anyone. Try not to transfer money to strangers, including not paying by phone number in stores and markets — the bank may consider such transfers as suspicious.
There is a risk of blocking for those who use pirated resources, illegal casino services, anonymous crypto exchangers, and other services offered by the shadow sector. These transactions are not only dangerous in themselves, but can also involve a person in criminal schemes. For example, the organizers of such schemes can directly link consumers of illegal services with participants in criminal activity for settlements.
If your personal data has changed — last name, phone number, address — inform the bank in a timely manner. The bank may have questions if transactions related to entrepreneurial activity are carried out through a personal account.
If the bank has already restricted access to the account or card, it is obliged to inform you on the basis of which federal law and in accordance with which of its norms such a decision was made. The bank should also clarify what to do to restore service.
