Passenger Catamaran "Alexander Gorin" Construction Completed

The FT12 project high-speed vessel is designed for passenger transportation on inland waterways and in the Gulf of Finland.

The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has issued a set of classification documents for the high-speed passenger vessel "Alexander Gorin" (project FT12). At the award ceremony, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping was represented by Alexey Avdeev, Senior Engineer-Inspector of the Baltic Branch.

The FT12 project high-speed vessel was built at the "Sudostroitelnoe proektnoe buro" shipyard. The project was developed by "Fors Tekhnologii". Technical supervision of the vessel's construction was carried out by specialists from the Shlisselburg section of the Baltic Branch of the RS.

The catamaran is designed for passenger transportation on inland waterways and in the waters of the Neva Bay to the Gorskaya – Kronstadt – Lomonosov line. It will operate in the Gulf of Finland, making excursions to the Kronstadt forts.

The vessel is named in honor of Colonel Alexander Vladimirovich Gorin, who was born and raised in Kronstadt. Colonel Gorin served in the Marine Corps, FSB special forces, and motorized rifle troops. For courage and heroism displayed in the performance of military duty, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
