Six missile ships of the Caspian Flotilla conducted artillery fire during the exercise, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The crew of the missile ship "Tatarstan", during scheduled combat training activities, carried out training and combat firing at coastal targets. At the same time, the crew of the ship of project 11661 practiced repelling an attack by air assets of a mock enemy, using 30-millimeter AK-630 automatic artillery installations and the Osa-MA-2 anti-aircraft missile system.
During the planned exercise, the organization of security and defense of ships while stationed in an unprotected roadstead was also practiced. In order to counter underwater sabotage forces and assets, the Caspian sailors carried out grenade throwing from the DP-64 hand-held anti-sabotage grenade launcher.
Also, the ship's crews practiced repelling an attack by unmanned boats of a mock enemy with the help of large-caliber machine guns. In order to repel missile strikes by the enemy, the personnel used electronic countermeasures while maneuvering.
