A video has appeared online showing a Russian Su-27 fighter jet driving an American F-15 away from a Tu-22M3 strategic missile-carrying bomber.
The footage shows an F-15, apparently during a patrol, approaching the domestic "strategist." However, the escort included a Su-27, which with a bold aerial maneuver drove the foreign aircraft away from the Tu-22M3, discouraging it from continuing observation.
Long-range aviation crews on Tu-22M3, Tu-95MS, and Tu-160 regularly fly over the neutral waters of the North Atlantic, Arctic, Pacific Ocean, Black and Baltic Seas.
The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that all flights are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.
The Su-27 is one of the main symbols of domestic aviation. Fighter jets created on its base are among the most popular in the world. Since 2000 alone, about 700 aircraft of this family have been delivered abroad.
