More than 20 units of mining equipment illegally connected to power grids were discovered in a forest belt in the Irkutsk region. This was reported to journalists by the press service of the "Irkutsk Electric Grid Company."

According to preliminary estimates, the income from gray mining was about 250 thousand rubles per month, and the damage from unauthorized electricity consumption reached about 1 million rubles.

Gray mining poses a serious problem for power grid companies. According to the Stolypin Institute, the annual damage is about 10 billion rubles. At the same time, the economy loses about 9.6 billion rubles due to non-payment of taxes by miners.
