The commander of the Su-34 NVO crew captured the moment of launch and exit onto the ascending branch of the trajectory in the active section of the 9M723-1 Iskander-M operational-tactical quasi-ballistic missile in the rear hemisphere of the aircraft. The video has appeared online.
The footage shows the missile with a fiery tail rapidly soaring into the air and heading straight to its destination.
The Iskander-M is mainly used by the military to destroy enemy air defense systems directly, as well as the most important objects at a maximum range of up to 500 km.
The modernized 9M723-1 missiles significantly reduce the effectiveness of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM).
