Four through cracks found in 2020–2024 in the Russian segment of the International Space Station have been sealed. This was reported on September 1 at the Cosmonaut Training Center.
The CTC clarified that no air leaks were recorded after the repair. At the same time, specialists continue to regularly check places of possible leaks.
According to the center, astronauts use several devices for diagnostics. An ultrasonic flaw detector allows you to find damage under structures, an eddy current flaw detector helps determine the depth of cracks, and a thickness gauge helps measure the condition of the hull.
