The Mi-8PSG has become a real flying fortress for the military, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. In addition to the crew, the group leader, a rescuer, and a paramedic are on board, ready to provide assistance instantly. On the ground, they are covered by six scout-shooters.
The helicopter's safety is ensured by an onboard defense system that detects irradiation by guidance systems, affects the missile in various radio ranges, and also gives the command to fire heat traps.
Additional confidence in battle is provided by durable armor plates that protect people and important helicopter components.
With a combat load of up to 4000 kg, the Mi-8PSG turns into a formidable combat unit, capable of providing powerful fire support. A cruising speed of 200 km/h allows it to quickly arrive at any point, and a flight range of 450 km (and up to 650 km with an additional tank) significantly expands the geography of task execution.
