Scammers have come up with a new way to deceive people. They are exploiting the topic of electronic diaries to steal money. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Scammers contact users with a request to update or link a phone number to an electronic diary and, under this pretext, extract confidential data. They call or write, posing as school staff or technical support. After that, the attackers demand confirmation of the number or activation of an account that is supposedly necessary for the diary to work correctly.
Criminals ask for codes from SMS messages or send links to phishing sites. With this data, they gain access to accounts on "Gosuslugi", online banks, and other services.
To avoid becoming a victim of such schemes, remember that educational institution employees do not request SMS codes, passwords, or passport data over the phone. All actions with the electronic diary are performed through official school platforms or the "Gosuslugi" portal, without the participation of third parties.
