During the transportation of a MiG-29A fighter of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia from the Erebuni airfield in Armenia, an element of the rigid coupling failed, causing the aircraft to roll back. A video has appeared online.
The aircraft itself, as well as the fence, were not seriously damaged, and the transportation process continued. Fortunately, the MiG-29 did not crash at full speed into the Ural truck standing behind it, and that there was no cliff from the bridge to the highway or into the river below it when the fence was rammed.
It is likely that the MiG-29 was being sent for decommissioning, as the specific fighter with tail number 15 red was last seen in the sky back in 2022.
The MiG-29 is a fourth-generation multirole front-line supersonic fighter developed by the MiG Design Bureau. It is the first fighter in the world to combine effectiveness in maneuverable air combat with the ability to attack with medium-range and close-range missiles.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the first video of the MiG-31B interceptor's flight at an altitude of 22 km appeared.
