BAZ trucks with Belarusian-Russian components to be mass-produced in Shushary by the end of the year

BAZ is preparing to replace Tatras on Russian roads

In the Leningrad region, in Shushary, mass production of BAZ trucks with Belarusian-Russian components is planned to begin as early as 2025.

The project is being implemented within the framework of a special investment contract (SPIC) between the Government of St. Petersburg, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the company "Romanov" with total investments of more than 6.5 billion rubles.

Currently, prototypes are being tested: cross-country ability on wet and loose soil, operation under full and excessive load, stability on uneven roads, as well as maintainability in the field are being checked.

The new all-wheel drive BAZ trucks are expected to replace Tatras. They are equipped with a fully independent spring suspension, a diesel engine and gearbox from Yaroslavl, and a transfer case from Naberezhnye Chelny.
