Footage of bench tests of the new Russian advanced PD-35 ultra-high thrust turbofan aircraft engine has appeared online.
The fan diameter is more than three meters, the weight is almost ten tons. Thrust is about 35,000 kgf. PD-35 is a completely domestic development, all components are Russian. The test bench on which the engine is being tested is also completely Russian.
It is planned to be installed on the PAK VTA aircraft, but at the moment there is no aircraft for this engine.
PD-35 uses 18 new technologies and materials, including structural solutions and new coatings, and also uses the scientific and technical groundwork from the creation of the PD-14 engine.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec officially included the Su-35S fighter in the "Combat Monsters" project.
