Russian President Vladimir Putin has initiated the development of a course for the military and members of volunteer formations on shooting down drones using smoothbore weapons. This information appeared on the Kremlin website.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia, with the participation of the All-Russian Public Movement "People's Front 'For Russia'," is to prepare and submit proposals: on the feasibility of introducing into the combat training programs of military personnel and citizens in volunteer formations a course on countering unmanned aerial vehicles (unmanned aerial vehicles) using smoothbore firearms, taking into account the skills of civilian instructors and athletes in clay target shooting, as well as on the need for logistical support for such a course.
The need for logistical support for training is also emphasized. This will ensure high-quality training and effectiveness in the fight against drones.
Proposals must be submitted by October 1, 2025.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that almost 6 billion rubles could be spent on equipping Russian hospitals with drone detection and combat equipment.
