The airline "Smartavia" has become a co-founder of the company "Smart Technic" with an authorized capital of 20 million rubles. The new company is registered near the Arkhangelsk airport, which became the base for "Smartavia".
"Smart Technic" will specialize in the maintenance and repair of aircraft. This became known from the "SPARK-Interfax" database.
Russian air carriers began to actively develop their own capabilities in the field of maintenance since 2022, when, due to sanctions, foreign partners stopped servicing aircraft in Russia.
Given the large fleet of the same type of aircraft, it is more profitable for carriers to carry out maintenance on their own. In addition, the provision of services to external customers can improve the financial performance of the business, experts say.
