The legendary Russian gasoline V8 engine (ZMZ-523) has significantly increased in price: now its cost exceeds 350,000 rubles, while a year ago it cost about 250,000.
Since 2025, the engine is no longer installed on the PAZ assembly line and is produced only as a spare part.
The ZMZ-5234.10 engine has a volume of 4.67 liters, a power of 130 hp at 3200 rpm and can run on both AI-80/AI-92 gasoline and gas. This model is a deep modernization of the ZMZ-53 engine, which has been produced since 1963.
The increase in price and limited supply make the engine a rare and expensive spare part, which affects the repair and restoration of old cars using this engine.
