The heavy nuclear missile cruiser \"Admiral Nakhimov\" will go on trials in September. The main result of the ship's modernization will be to increase its strike power, said military expert Yevgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the near line of the anti-missile barrier of the \"Admiral Nakhimov\" will be represented by at least six shipborne anti-aircraft missile and gun systems (SAM) \"Pantsir-M\" with 24 target channels.
The ship's systems will be able to be equipped with both high-speed long-range anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAM) 57E6M with a range of 40 km, and small-sized highly maneuverable SAM 19Ya6 for intercepting kamikaze UAVs and enemy cruise missiles.
The cruiser received a modern radar station (radar) for circular surveillance and target designation of the E-band waves (2-3 GHz) \"Fregat-M2EM\" with a target detection range with an RCS of 3 sq. m at an echelon of 10,000 m of about 210 km and with an RCS of 0.1 sq. m - at a distance of 95 km.
It is expected that the \"Admiral Nakhimov\" will carry Oniks or Kalibr-NK cruise missiles, as well as Zircon hypersonic missiles.
