At 03.59 Moscow time, an M1.5 flare lasting 34 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in spot group 4168 (N03W89), and at 04.23 Moscow time, an M1.8 flare lasting nine minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in spot group 4168 (N05W89).
These events may foreshadow further activity. During the day (August 12), flares of the highest class X are possible, which may affect the Earth's magnetic field and cause geomagnetic storms.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a fireworks display of 17 flares occurred on the Sun in less than two days.
