In July, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of Sberbank, German Gref, noted that the departure of foreign companies, including companies such as Apple, from the Russian market forced the bank to look for new solutions. The top manager explained to the president that Sberbank is striving to become independent from external providers. Gref added that the bank has successfully solved the problem with payments using biometric data.
