Kaliningrad-based Avtotor plant plans to launch mass production of an inexpensive electric vehicle of its own design, aimed, in particular, for use in delivery services and car-sharing companies.
Currently, we are completing the key stages of developing our own compact electric vehicle and are moving on to preparing for production. Our task was initially to create an affordable electric vehicle with a high level of localization, primarily focused on delivery services, car sharing, as well as mass consumers with average incomes.
Avtotor electric vehicles will be equipped with domestically produced battery modules supplied by RENERA. According to information, the equipment intended for the implementation of this project has already been manufactured.
The plant's first own model will be similar in size to compact A-class cars, such as Daewoo Matiz and Kia Picanto, which are well known to Russian drivers. They plan to sell it to private buyers, companies, and social services.
