In the first half of the year, the US increased purchases of enriched uranium from Russia by almost two-thirds year-on-year, and Russia again became its main supplier to the States.
The total import of domestic enriched uranium in the period from January to June 2025 amounted to $755.6 million, which is 62.2% more than in the same period in 2024. In total, the US purchased uranium from Russia for $623.7 million last year.
In total, the US imported enriched uranium for almost $2.9 billion in the first half of the year, increasing purchases by 21.3% per year. At the same time, Russia again became the main supplier.
Prior to that, in the first half of 2024, France held the lead, and in the first half of 2023, Russia also did.
