The High-Precision Systems holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) has tested prototypes of the latest UTD-32T diesel engines with increased power for modernized BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles.
Compared to its predecessor, the UTD-32T has increased power. The power plant is equipped with a fan cooling system and turbocharging.
Rostec added that compared to the previous engine model for the BMP-3, the UTD-32T has greater power and increased torque. At the same time, the weight of the unit increased by only 7%.
These characteristics ensure a high level of specific power for the BMP-3, allowing it to be maintained when installing various additional systems on the BMP, including protection elements.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of delivery of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
