Russian airline S7 offered to part with Airbus A320neo

Repair of idle aircraft cannot be carried out in Russia

Foreign airlines have offered the Russian carrier S7 to take back Airbus A320neo aircraft with American engines, which are currently impossible to repair in Russia.

The initiative was put forward by the Montenegrin company MelonAero. The appeal to the Deputy Head of the Russian Government, Vitaly Savelyev, states that idle aircraft require regular maintenance.

Prolonged storage without operation threatens serious costs for restoring their airworthiness. In addition, the presence of such aircraft in Russia does not benefit either the carriers themselves or the state.

Against this background, the Egyptian airline AlMasria and the Philippine airline SEAIR Int offered the Russian Cabinet to discuss the transfer of Airbus A320/321neo aircraft with American Pratt & Whitney engines to them and allow their export from the country. Currently, the aircraft are leased from S7.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of delivery of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
