Ryazan State Radio Engineering University (RGRTU) is developing optical communication modules for drones. Project documentation is available on the public procurement website.
19.8 million rubles have been allocated for the "Thread-4" project. The development will solve the problems of noise immunity, limited range, and overload of drone control channels.
It is assumed that the modules will ensure the operation of drone communication even in strong sunlight and optical losses. Unlike the radio channel, the optical communication channel does not require licensed frequencies and is immune to radio interference, which will significantly increase the stability and range of drone control. The module development will be completed by the end of 2025.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of delivery of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
