TsNII of Automation and Hydraulics (TsNIIAG) from the High-Precision Complexes holding, together with NPP Proekt-Tekhnika, have developed the first Russian boarding bridge - a passenger "sleeve" for boarding and disembarking passengers at airports. Previously, such equipment was supplied only from abroad.
The boarding bridge is equipped with electro-hydraulic and electromechanical drives, as well as a control and safety system. Thanks to this, the device can change its height, length, and shape, which allows it to be used with any type of aircraft - from regional to long-haul.
In addition to creating a new boarding bridge, TsNIIAG plans to modernize imported equipment, produce spare parts, and provide maintenance, which will reduce the dependence of Russian airports on foreign suppliers.
This is important because the emergence of a domestic boarding bridge strengthens the technological independence of aviation infrastructure and increases the reliability of aircraft maintenance at Russian airports.
