The fleet of wagons of JSC "Federal Freight Company" (FGC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways) has been replenished with 40 innovative 8-axle tanks of the "Nakhodka" model. They are designed for the transportation of oil cargo, Russian Railways reported.
This tank has an increased load capacity. This allows transporting almost 14% more light and dark oil products compared to typical 4-axle tanks.
The "Nakhodka" can be operated as part of a train and together with 4-axle tanks without additional shunting work. The wagon passes curved sections of the track and sorting humps similarly to other tanks.
Characteristics of "Nakhodka":
- Type: 8-axle, on a rigid coupling.
- Purpose: transportation of light and dark oil products
- Boiler volume: 184 cubic meters.
- Load capacity: 150 tons.
