"Nakhodka" for the transportation of oil cargo: innovative 8-axle tanks have replenished the fleet of the Russian Railways subsidiary

Wagon load capacity - 150 tons, boiler volume - 184 cubic meters

The fleet of wagons of JSC "Federal Freight Company" (FFC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways) has been replenished with 40 innovative 8-axle tanks of the "Nakhodka" model. They are designed for the transportation of oil cargo, Russian Railways reported.

This tank has an increased load capacity. This allows transporting almost 14% more light and dark oil products compared to typical 4-axle tanks.

"Nakhodka" can be operated as part of a train and together with 4-axle tanks without additional shunting work. The wagon passes curved sections of the track and sorting humps similarly to other tanks.

Characteristics of "Nakhodka":

  • Type: 8-axle, on a rigid coupling.
  • Purpose: transportation of light and dark oil products
  • Boiler volume: 184 cubic meters.
  • Load capacity: 150 tons.
