The high-speed passenger catamaran "Fort Shanets" (project 04580 "Kotlin") was launched at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant in St. Petersburg. This was reported in the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
The "Fort Shanets" catamaran will connect the center of St. Petersburg with the "Island of Forts" museum and historical park. This is the last vessel in a series of 6 catamarans of the 04580 "Kotlin" project.
The uniqueness of the catamaran lies in combining the qualities of a river vessel with low wave formation and a coastal vessel with increased seaworthiness.
The catamarans "Fort Kronslot", "Fort Peter I", "Fort Alexander I" and "Fort Totleben" are already on the route. "Fort Obruchev" was launched at the end of May.
