The Black Sea Fleet frigate of Project 11356 "Admiral Grigorovich" is located at the base of the Russian Navy in Kronstadt in the Leningrad Region. On Sunday, July 27, it was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Frigates of this type are equipped with the Kalibr missile system, the main strike weapon of the ships. "Kalibr" uses universal launchers that allow the use of various types of missiles, such as cruise missiles designed to engage ground and sea targets, as well as Onyx anti-ship missiles.
On the forecastle of the ship there is an A-190 artillery mount with a powerful 100 mm caliber gun. There are also a pair of AK-630 mounts with 30 mm caliber guns.
"Admiral Grigorovich" is the lead frigate of Project 11356R, in service with the Black Sea Fleet. The frigate is part of the 30th division of surface ships. The ship was named in honor of Admiral Ivan Grigorovich, the naval minister of Russia in 1911-1917.
A few weeks ago, information appeared on the Web that "Admiral Grigorovich" had finally left the Mediterranean Sea, where he had been serving since 2021.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" with "Kalibr", "Zircon" and "Onyx" has completed repairs.
