On July 26, updated rules for transporting children in cars came into force in Russia. According to the government decree, it is now prohibited to use adapters or boosters instead of certified car seats.
A new definition has appeared in the traffic regulations — "child restraint system (device)." According to the regulations, it must be equipped with fixing elements, limiters and built-in seat belts. Any other means of transporting a child that does not meet the requirements will be considered a violation.
The fine for the absence of a suitable device for drivers of passenger cars will be up to 3 thousand rubles. Liability has been tightened for taxi drivers: if a child is transported without a certified device, criminal liability is possible.
The changes are aimed at improving the safety of children in transport and eliminating the use of unsafe devices that were previously allowed.
