Большие мишени: с чем останется ВМФ России после списания «Адмирала Кузнецова»

Two UDC Project 23900 "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" were laid down at the "Zaliv" plant

The management of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has decided on the fate of the only aircraft-carrying cruiser of Project 1143.5 in Russia, the "Admiral Kuznetsov", the warship will be sold or disposed of. Military expert Sergei Marzhetsky spoke about what opportunities remain for the Russian Navy.

Model of UDC Project 23900

He recalled that two universal landing ships (UDC) of Project 23900 — "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" — were laid down at the "Zaliv" shipyard to replace the "Admiral Kuznetsov". They were positioned as a replacement for the French "Mistrals", which never entered Russia.

A full displacement of 40 thousand tons, a deck length of 220 m and a width of 40 m, lifting elevators and under-deck hangars will allow the UDC of Project 23900 to be used as carriers of aircraft with vertical landing and short takeoff such as the Yak-141.

They promised to launch them in 2027 and 2028, respectively. In the modernized version, "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" could turn into light escort aircraft carriers. In addition, they can be used to base marine, underwater and surface drones launched from the dock camera at the stern.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" with "Caliber", "Zircon" and "Onyx" has completed repairs.
