The first batch of Russian electrolyte for supercapacitors has been successfully synthesized in Tomsk

The manufacturer claims that their product surpasses foreign analogues in terms of purity

The first batch of Russian electrolyte has been produced in Tomsk. The development was carried out by specialists from the Engineering Chemical-Technological Center (ECTC) at Tomsk State University. The project is being implemented in cooperation with Elecond from Udmurtia, which manufactures supercapacitors.

The first kilograms of electrolyte have already been synthesized. The next step is to check the purity of the composition. According to preliminary data, the Russian product surpasses foreign analogues in this parameter. The main tests will begin when the electrolyte is integrated into experimental supercapacitors.

As a result of the synthesis, we obtained the first kilograms of electrolyte. Next, analytical chemists, specialists will assess the degree of purity - this is an important aspect. According to preliminary estimates, the domestic electrolyte will be more "pure" compared to the foreign one. Key tests will be carried out when testing the electrolyte as part of experimental supercapacitors,

Supercapacitors combine the properties of batteries and capacitors. They quickly accumulate and release charge, which makes them useful in automotive starters, aviation, and railway equipment. The project is supported by the Foundation for Advanced Research. The installation for the synthesis of electrolyte was presented in May 2025 at the U-NOVUS forum, as reported www1.ru.
