Deputy Nilov proposed easing tinting rules in hot regions

The head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy, Yaroslav Nilov, proposed softening the requirements for tinting the front side windows of cars. He addressed the initiative to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintaev.

Currently, according to GOST, the light transmission of the windshield and front side windows must be at least 70%. Violation of these requirements is punishable by a fine of 500 rubles.

In a number of countries with hot climates, including some regions of the United States, on the contrary, responsibility is provided for the absence of tinting. He proposed taking this experience into account when developing possible changes to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles".

According to the deputy, climatic conditions in a number of regions of the Eurasian Union require a more flexible approach. At temperatures above +30 °C, unsafe conditions are created in the car. Direct sunlight, he noted, reduces the driver's concentration and can interfere with driving.

Nilov called for considering the possibility of adjusting the requirements for visibility through the front side windows in the interests of safety and comfort of motorists.
