"Pocket artillery" against tanks: servicemen in the Rostov region destroyed armored vehicles of a mock enemy with RPG-7V

The rate of fire of a hand-held grenade launcher is up to 6 rounds per minute

Servicemen in the Rostov region, during intensive combined arms training, mastered the skills of firing from the RPG-7V hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District (SMD).

The soldiers fired at targets simulating military equipment and infantry of a mock enemy.

Servicemen acquired skills in camouflage, target classification, the ability to use observation and aiming devices, determining the distance to the target and conducting fire at the maximum possible range day and night.

The RPG-7 was developed by specialists of KB No. 47 (now NPO "Bazalt"). The grenade launcher is designed to combat self-propelled guns, tanks and other armored vehicles of the enemy. It is considered an effective example of "pocket artillery."

RPG-7V characteristics:

  • Caliber - 40 mm
  • Maximum grenade speed - 300 m/s
  • Rate of fire - up to 6 rounds per minute
  • Weight of the grenade launcher with an optical sight - 6.3 kg

PG-7VM, PG-7VL, PG-7VR, PG-7V rounds are used for the grenade launcher.
